I can't say I've noticed a hum however I did once have a desk fan that produced a very low 20hz hum that was measurable at 68db. It was quite annoying but turning the fan off fixed the problem.

Why are most of us only hearing it at night when we are in bed? I find this interesting. I wonder if we sit up and take one of our ears off of our pillows, if we could still hear it? I, for one, will not be testing it. The sound scares me for some reason, and Im not turning off my fan to test it out.

I heard this sound when I lived in Albuquerque, NM. It was late at night, and it was very quiet otherwise. I couldn't sleep. It caused a lot of anxiety. I wanted quiet so I could sleep, but this low hum was keeping me up, and for some reason, it frightened me. I thought that maybe I was becoming mentally ill. I now listen to white noise at night so I can sleep. I don't know if I could hear it if I turned off my fan now, and honestly, I don't want to know.

great video & I love the final appeal to humanity. as an early gen-x consumer, this subject fascinates me, as I think I developed a high resistance to these tactics from an early age, later reinforced by an anti-authority/anti-corporate punk music aesthetic in high school (is counterculture a thing anymore?). re: Apple- their appeal to cool never took w/me for the previous reason & because they've always made their hardware deliberately obscure, whereas microsoft didn't seem to care if you wanted to frankenstein the crap out of your pc. I bought a used budget gaming desktop in 2010 & have been swapping out parts on it for the past 14 years. iPhones are abhorrent to me because their pricing is absurd & also I don't want a single device that's so easy to misplace w/so much personal information & import tied to it. none of this is brand loyalty to me (I certainly don't love Windows, lol), it's just about functionality & convenience. I get tinnitus but sometimes I hear a low, almost inaudible vibration. I feel it in my chest cavity. In fact, the flat vibrates with it. I thought that you needed something to vibrate that is much larger than the eardrum to produce long wavelengths. My wife hears and feels it too at the same time. Are our eardrums producing it in concert? Does our flat need psychoanalysis?

I'm always hearing and often feeling all sorts of low tone noises. but they're from things like parking lot sweeper trucks, blowers, fans, idling vehicles, semi trailer refrigeration units, trains(even miles away), the highway, natural gas burner(water heater/furnace), the list goes on and on. I generally have so many noisy things running around me I don't notice the others until I try to sleep and have powered off much of it. parking lot cleaners are always going late at night after stores close.

I know the urge to work around or dislike the big dogs.... Like hating on Rolex, Mercedes, Microsoft, Steinberg, Nike, ... But in the end, with those you typically get a product that has a nice user experience and has sort of an active life cycle management. I tried a lot of the free DAWS (having Win, Mac, iOS, Linux, Android devices) and I have to say that ultimately, I really do like Cubase and Cubasis, because you get things done with them and it makes sense to learn them, because they have been around for a long time and get updates regularly. So you are not wasting your time and money with them. That being said, I would love Audacity with ASIO support out of the box. You can compile it yourself, but it is a hassle. I also like MultiTrack DAW by Harmonicdog. It is cheap, stripped down to the essentials and lets you focus on the music.

I like to drive, I drive when I feel like it. I use FSD in stop and go traffic, I use FSD on some long stretches of roads. I do not care what level of FSD it is, I pay attention, just as I pay attention when I use low tech cruise control on my mini-van. I am satisfied with the level of assistance Tesla FSD provides. I acquired tinnitus somewhere along the way. Kiss concert? MVA causing head injury? I have no idea but one day it was there. The sound I hear is high high pitched, varied is loudness and sometimes if I am extremely lucky I can ignore it. Growing up I had something that no one else around me acknowledged at that time that was driving me batty and impaired my ability to concentrate and learn, nowadays it's common...the evil and I mean evil, florescent lights!! I hate those fricking things to this day. I heard them all the time because they were the newest rage in homes at the time and my parents installed them in 1 room and, of course, no school was without an incredible amount of them. Needless to say, at home they were always shut off as soon as I was around. I think a low constant hum would definately drive me batty just from experiences I've had from huge generators being far enough away that I got the secondary sound. Not the sound of the motor, but the combined sound of everything...the entire generator, vibrations through the ground and up into a building. If someone in a car pulls beside me with the bass boosters I will do anything to get as far away from them as I can. Also reminds me of what they have discovered about elephants along with what you can see the water do when crocs in the mood rumble. Interesting and I do feel for the people hearing it from my experience with tinnitus. Some days I can't get enough distracting sound going to drown out the squeal in my ears

I live more than 3 miles away from train tracks. My house is located on a big tall hill and there is another tall hill between my house and the train tracks. So there is no direct line of sight to were the train with tons of cargo passes by. I can tell when there is a train going through this part of the city, because I can either hear it and/or feel it. Those diesel engines are so loud, in a low frequency, that I can hear them all the way here. There are hundreds of houses, buildings , bridges and hills and still the sound waves and vibration makes it all the way to my house.

I have had tinnitus for as long as I can remember. Sometimes really weird sounds. Like engines running, rushing winds, hums and "electronic" noises. It rarely bothers me much anymore. Probably not related but occasionally I hear knocks on my door and no one is there.

I don’t have out of the ordinary hearing, or anything special or unique about me. But I can feel things and perceive things most can’t because I’m able to tune into my environment and quiet the internal noise inside me ( im a hunter 🤪) there are things I can feel before I hear or see. Sometimes even that can become extremely loud and exhausting. Nature gives me comfort. I don’t hunt necessarily to hunt or for the meat, It’s more like it’s my excuse to reground in nature from the “noise” of civilization. But instead of explaining this to people, I just say, “I hunt” or “I’m going hunting” because people can understand that. But it’s a bit more difficult and weird to explain the above to everyone. Especially to your wife 😂 I just need peace

I have an smartphone whit Dolby certification and another whit DTS certification and both have the same audio quality ,just because they physically cannot match the specifications on certifications ,Its just a gimmick .. and TBH I prefer DTS... and since my certificated DTS speakers doen't work anymore Because of Dolby SHi$%@##$@!! I Hate Dolby!.
